“The third angel of Revelation 14 is represented as flying swiftly through the midst of heaven crying: ‘Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ Here is shown the nature of the work of the people of God. They have a message of so great importance that they are represented as flying in the presentation of it to the world. They are holding in their hands the bread of life for a famishing world. The love of Christ constraineth them. This is the last message. There are no more to follow, no more invitations of mercy to be given after this message shall have done its work. What a trust! What a responsibility is resting upon all to carry the words of gracious invitation” (Testimonies, 5:206-207).
We are certainly living in a unique time of history. There is little doubt that the Advent Movement was brought into existence by God at exactly the right time to fulfill prophecy. It is clear that our message—the threefold message of Revelation 14—must go to the entire world, and that it is designed to meet today’s issues. And what are these issues facing this world and what are the causes? Our world is in a state of chaos. Tragedy is everywhere. Our hearts ache when we see the nations being decimated by disasters, one after another. Look at the destruction in Haiti brought by Hurricane Matthew; consider the food crisis in Venezuela or daily bombardments in Syria, just to name a few. So many innocent people are dying through man-made and natural disasters. And even though politicians promise that things are going to get better they don’t have a clue as to how they would accomplish this. It is only God’s Word that gives us the answer.
The Bible clearly teaches that when men obey God’s Commandments, love one another and execute honesty and justice that God will bless the nations. But we are also warned that if men forsake God, then celebrate and glorify lawlessness, engage in injustice and vice, and despise their fellowmen then His hand would be against the nations to chastise them (see 1 Samuel 12:14-15; Deuteronomy 30:15-20; 2 Chronicles 15:3-6).
This is the heart of the message given by Noah, Elijah, Jonah, Jeremiah, Moses, John the Baptist and all the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. The Three Angels’ Message are no different. This unique communication is given because men no longer fear God, they are not glorifying Him and they are not worshipping Him (Revelation 14:7). Instead they are drunk on the wine of Babylon. They prefer to embrace the doctrines of men, believe in lies, embrace spiritualism and engage in greed, strife and wars. Our world is becoming more and more secular as God, His Bible and His law are being rejected. These acts have serious consequences. This is the reason why we believe that we must take the messages of Revelation 14 to where prophecy calls for it to go—to “every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” Revelation 14:6. By God’s grace, this is what we strive to do. We are trying to give every person in every place a fair opportunity to hear God’s last message of mercy.
