“And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God” Luke 13:29.
“Servants of God, endowed with power from on high with their faces lighted up, and shining with holy consecration, went forth to proclaim the message from heaven. Souls that were scattered all through the religious bodies answered to the call, and the precious were hurried out of the doomed churches, as Lot was hurried out of Sodom before her destruction” (Early Writings 278, 279).
The coming of the Lord is nearer than when we first believed. The great controversy that has been raging for 6,000 years is nearing its end. Every news report of disaster, tragedy and war proclaims the approaching Day of Judgment. As God’s people see the great events opening before us we are to do our part in getting others ready for the coming of the Lord.
We have been shown from the above inspired statements that souls from all parts of the world and from every nation under the heavens will respond to the gospel invitation. This should inspire us to action and compel us to work for the Master who reminds us to stay focused on evangelism, missions and ministry when He said: “Occupy till I come” (Luke 19:13) and “Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing” Matthew 24:46.
There is a work for us to do in cooperation with the Lord who is preparing a heavenly banquet. The gospel invitation is to go to the four corners of the earth where the faithful and obedient will come from the north, the south, the east and the west to sit down and partake of the Lord’s salvation. There are souls yearning to hear this great news; God’s gospel invitation of hope to souls crying out for answers because we are living in a world rapidly deteriorating into anarchy and confusion with no hope.
God has His chosen people in all parts of the world; that is why we must take the Everlasting Gospel to all nations. The ultimate glory will be when the saved and redeemed are gathered in the air to meet the Lord and for the rest of eternity we will all have joy, peace and rest – forevermore! Yes, we are homeward bound! We are nearing the time when Christ will come to gather His redeemed to Himself!
