“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD” Habakkuk 2:14. “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory” Revelation 18:1. “As the third message swells to a loud cry, and as great power and glory attend the closing work, the faithful people of God will partake of that glory” (7 BC 984).
“The glory of God rested upon the patient, waiting saints, and they fearlessly gave the last solemn warning” (Early Writings, 277, 278).
The above inspired statements describe the world-wide power, glory and truth that is coming to illuminate all the inhabitants of planet earth. God will set into motion His final work that will arouse the people to prepare the world for the second coming of Jesus. It is amazing to see a small glimpse of the powerful moving of the Spirit of God in the recent Three Angels’ Message newspaper ads that have come out. We are praising God for the manner in which He works. Notice this inspiring statement: “God will use ways and means by which it will be seen that He is taking the reins in His own hands. The workers will be surprised by the simple means that He will use to bring about and perfect His work of righteousness” (Evangelism, 118).
For the glory of God, 16 more newspaper ads were secured through different daily and weekly newspapers since our last newsletter came out. Below is a brief description of the newspaper ads, their location, circulation and sponsors.
Florida: We want to thank those in Florida for helping to sponsor an ad in their local paper. This paper has a circulation of 22,000 print editions. This is their first time to place an ad, however all members have expressed a desire to do more in the future. Please pray for them because they are a new church.
Iowa: We are grateful for the faithful sponsors in Iowa. This is the second ad they have placed.
The newspaper has a circulation of 21,000 print editions.
Kansas: We would like to thank members in Kansas who sponsored an ad in one of their papers. The paper has a circulation of 24,000 print editions.
Missouri: We want to thank the brethren from one of the churches in Missouri. This church sponsored two ads. One had a circulation of 55,000 and in the other had a circulation of 36,000. They are working on doing four more papers and getting a very good response. In fact the responses have been amazing. Please keep them in prayer and plan to do this in your own church. If you don’t have a way to take the calls we do.
North Dakota: We want to thank the person in charge of sponsoring an ad in one of the papers in a large North Dakota city. The circulation for this paper is 22,000 print editions.
Ohio: We thank the brethren in Ohio who have sponsored ads in newspapers in their community. These papers had a circulation of 21,500 and another, a circulation of 14,462. They have received very positive results from these ads. It is of interest to mention that one of the ads was published on Christmas Day, December 25, 2016. What better gift can be given to the people on Christmas morning than the Three Angels’ Messages? We know that Jesus is God’s most precious gift and the Three Angels’ Messages is a revelation of Jesus Christ; a message that prepares people to live with Him for all eternity. Praise God!
Oklahoma: We would like to thank a faithful Seventh-day Adventist laymen who is committed to
taking God’s last day message to his home state. Five newspapers ads were sponsored by this individual
and these papers covered nine different communities and rural towns. The five papers had a total
combined circulation of 16,000. The ads stirred up both the Adventists and the non-Adventists in a
good way in the communities. Praise God! We want to wake everyone up so that we can all get ready for Jesus when he comes. In addition to these newspapers, we want to thank a church in Northwest Oklahoma for sponsoring a paper that basically covers all of rural Western Oklahoma. This paper has a circulation of 22,500 print editions. Remember, more than one person reads a newspaper.
South Dakota: We would like to thank the hard-working brethren in South Dakota. They sponsored ads in two newspapers that were placed, one had a circulation of 45,000 and another had a circulation of 40,000. We are grateful for the hard work that is being done to help us place the ads and do all the follow up. They answer nearly all of the phone calls that come in from the ads, as well as purchase and mail most of the free Great Controversy books that are being offered in the ads.
These 16 newspaper ads combined represent 339,462 ads in print. The readership is potentially 2-3 times higher than the circulation because more than one person will read the newspaper in many homes and offices. For the glory of God hundreds of thousands of people are being reached with the final warning message for this time. This work is a collaboration between brethren across America who are committed to getting the truth out – but remember, God gets all the credit!
Truly the climate is ripe for God’s special, end-time truth to be shared at this very moment in history. Everyday we see more mounting tensions around the world. Every day we see new reports of division and unrest. The headlines of our day are filled with sordid crimes, murder, mayhem and terror. We are certainly living in the lawless period of earth’s history described in prophecy (Matthew 24:12). God’s Spirit is still striving with mankind to awaken and renew the precious souls in this world that are in danger.
And note this from the book Christian Service, page 145: “If there is one work more important than another, it is that of getting our publications before the public, thus leading them to search the Scriptures.”
