“Freely ye have received, freely give” Matthew 10:8. “Give, and it will be given to you” Luke 6:38.
“We can impart only that which we receive from Christ; and we can receive only as we impart to others. As we continue imparting, we continue to receive; and the more we impart, the more we shall receive. Thus we may be constantly believing, trusting, receiving and imparting” (God’s Amazing Grace, 212).
We are clearly told that it is only as we share our glorious message with others that we ourselves will receive the needed blessing that only Christ can impart – peace, happiness, the transforming power of God and the perfection of Christian character. The more that we give in labor and love for others, the more blessings God will bestow upon us.
The responsibility of sharing the gospel rests upon the people of God. It was for this very purpose that the Advent Movement was launched. The only justification for the existence of such a movement is in the very message itself. And it is only as we engage in an aggressive evangelistic program to spread this message that we will begin to experience and see the full potential of our energies and talents. God is impressing upon the hearts and minds of His people right now that they are standing on the threshold of eternity and that His message must shine forth as bright rays – shinning the light of the Three Angels’ Messages upon a world filled with lawlessness, suffering and
violence.
“The responsibility of the watchmen of today is as much greater than in the days of the prophets, as our light is clearer and our privileges and opportunities greater than theirs. It is the minister’s duty to warn every man, to teach every man, in all meekness and wisdom” (Testimonies 5:16).
The responsibility and burden of this work is even greater than the work of the ancient prophets. This is a solemn fact that we cannot take lightly. Our faithfulness or unfaithfulness in taking the Three Angels’ Messages to the world is a work that we will have to meet in judgment. Let us heed the counsel of the True Witness, and the Lord will work for us and with us. Even though the enemies of present truth may abound, we have One mightier Who will be our helper.
