“And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe” Revelation 14:15.
“His kingdom will not come until the good tidings of His grace have been carried to all the earth. Hence, as we give ourselves to God, and win other souls to Him, we hasten the coming of His kingdom” (Mount of Blessing, 108).
The great triumph of the gospel is the ultimate act in the drama of redemption. Jesus is described in Revelation 14:15 as coming to reap the harvest of the earth. God’s Remnant people have the responsibility of communicating the great messages of Revelation 14:6-12 to all the world; but ultimately, it will be Jesus who will gather into His kingdom all those who respond to His message. When this harvest is ripe then Christ will come.
John the revelator saw three angels carrying a special message to every “nation, kindred, tongue and people. Those who fully accept and give this three-fold message in all its fullness and with all its implications will help to ripen their own lives and the lives of others for heaven.
This is the last message of hope for the world. Immediately after they are given, the Son of man comes to reap the final harvest. These depictions symbolize God’s people and His work and how intimately they are connected to the Second Coming of Jesus.
“Christ is coming the second time, with power unto salvation. To prepare human beings for this event, He has sent the first, second, and third angel’s message. These angels represent those who receive the truth, and with power open the gospel to the world” (Bible Commentary 7:978).
“The three angels of Revelation 14 represent the people who accept the light of God’s messages and go forth as His agents to sound the warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth” (Testimonies 5:455, 456).
